I'm Rebecca Klein, a reporter for HuffPost who just wrapped an investigation into voucher schools. Most of these programs have a remarkably low level of transparency, so I set out to document what curriculum they use and whether or not they have discriminatory policies for LGBTQ students. Along the way, I found that a huge chunk of Christian schools in these programs use inaccurate, unscientific curriculum that teaches creationism and hatred for other religions. I also found that about 14 percent of religious schools in these programs have policies that either denigrate homosexuality or explicitly bar LGBTQ students from admission. I also found that a handful of these schools have strong ties to the church of Scientology.
