Hi there, I'm Ben Popken, a reporter at NBC News and for the past few months I've been leading the project to find, analyze and publish tweets from the list of Internet Research Agency and Kremlin-linked accounts released by Congress after Twitter suspended the accounts and removed the tweets from public view.

We felt it was important to uncover this information and show it so Americans and the world can see exactly what these operatives were up to. We were able to recover data for 454 of the accounts out of the 2,752 publicly released so this is truly the tip of the iceberg. By opensourcing this data we hope that we can let everyone from regular readers to researchers to legislators and fellow journalists see the content for themselves.

There are new patterns and stories to discover in this data and everyone deserves a chance to check it out. Already local and international papers have reported localized stories off our data and researching are publishing new analysis. This is an exciting force multiplier for our months of reporting.

Joining me is Will Lyons and David Allen from Neo4J, our data analysis partners who were instrumental in putting together and making this vast database understandable. Neo4j was used to power the data analysis for for Panama Papers and Paradise Papers investigations so we were thrilled to have them on our team. They will help field some of the more technical questions as well as weigh in on the broader system implications.

We want to answer everything we can but sometimes may need to protect sources or keep the chat on track within the scope of the reporting. If we all have a spirit of collaboration and understanding we can have a great conversation about an important topic!

Hello, Reddit! My name is Erwin Chemerinsky, and I serve as dean of the UC Berkeley School of Law. Before coming to Berkeley, I helped establish UC Irvine's law school, and before that taught at Duke and USC.

In my forty year career I've argued before the Supreme Court, contributed hundreds of pieces to law reviews and media outlets, and written several books - the latest of which examines freedom of speech on college campuses.
