US District Judge Amy Berman Jackson Sentences Paul Manafort to 73 months

Posted: 13 Mar 2019 09:20 AM PDT

Judge Amy Berman Jackson has sentenced Manafort to 60 months for count 1, the conspiracy charge, but 30 months will be concurrent — meaning at the same time — as the sentence imposed in Virginia. Judge Berman Jackson sentenced Manafort to 13 months for the witness tampering count. That sentence will be consecutive, meaning on top of the other sentences. That means, essentially, Manafort faces a sentence of 43 months prison in addition to the 47 months he received in the Virginia case.

Hi, I'm Dr. Leana Wen, president of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund. The Trump Administration has finalized one of the most dangerous & unconscionable attacks on our health and rights we’ve seen yet—a “gag rule” on doctors who treat the 4 million patients in the Title X program. Ask me anything!

Posted: 13 Mar 2019 09:08 AM PDT

This rule prohibits doctors and other health care providers from being able to provide full and accurate information to their patients. It will ban doctors across the country from referring patients who receive care through Title X (pronounced "title ten") — the nation's dedicated program for affordable birth control and reproductive health care — for safe, legal abortion care. And, it will block patients from getting birth control and other reproductive health care, including cancer screenings and STI tests and treatment through the Title X program, at places like Planned Parenthood.

I cannot imagine withholding information from my patients — it's unethical. And there is absolutely no medical reason for it.

This rule means either providers must withhold information and violate their patients' trust if they continue in the program or leave the program all together. It also puts health care at risk for 4 million patients, 41 percent of whom get their care at Planned Parenthood.

Today, we're launching a campaign to educate people about this rule, and to fight back. It's called Protect X ("protect ten") - and you can find out more at protectx.org.

But for now, if you have questions about the rule, this is the place to ask them.

EDIT: Answering questions now! Thanks everyone for participating.

If you have questions about how you can take action RIGHT NOW, go here:
