Discussion Thread: House Morning Session - Resolution on the 25th Amendment – 01/11/2021 | Live: 11:00am ET

Today, during the morning session, the House of Representatives is expected to introduce a Resolution calling on Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment. This is a result of actions that incited and influenced the insurrection at the US Capitol on 01/06/2021, and will declare President Donald J. Trump incapable of executing the duties of his office and to immediately transfer powers of acting President to Mike Pence.

This Resolution would require unanimous consent to pass. It is expected that there will be at least one GOP member that will object. If that is the case, the House will seek to debate and vote on the resolution on Tuesday, 01/12/2021.

In a letter addressed to the House Democratic Caucus, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi outlined a rapid time-line, providing VP Pence up to 24 hours to respond or take action before the House would proceed to the Impeachment process. A draft of the Articles of Impeachment has already been released, charging President Trump with Incitement of Insurrection.

The session is scheduled to begin at 11:00 am ET. You can watch live online on

  • CSPAN

  • Many major networks will also air live coverage on TV or online.

  • You can also listen online via C-Span or download the C-Span Radio App
