Today is National Voter Registration Day!

Posted: 26 Sep 2017 06:25 AM PDT

Once again, Reddit is partnering with National Voter Registration Day, a non-partisan, non-profit effort to encourage Americans to register to vote. Today, September 26, you'll see sticky posts and ads across Reddit to inform people about the initiative, which is especially important in off-year elections. Only 1 in 5 voters participates in local elections, where critical positions like judges, sheriffs, and school boards are filled. These positions have a significant impact on our daily lives yet get far less attention than high-profile national elections.

You can learn more about the effort at www.nationalvoterregistrationday.org.

TL;DR Today is National Voter Registration Day. Register to vote.
