Hi Reddit! I'm Dr. Abdul El Sayed, a physician, epidemiologist, progressive activist, and host of the podcast America Dissected. I was a candidate in the 2018 Michigan Democratic Gubernatorial Primary and a part of the Biden-Sanders Unity Task Force on Healthcare. Shortly after my Gubernatorial Primary run, I founded Southpaw Michigan to help elect other progressive candidates in the state. Previously, I served as Executive Director of the Detroit Health Department and Health Officer for the City of Detroit from 2015 to 2017.
