I have neither held elected office, nor ran for office, but in January of this year, I decided to run for Congress. I believe that my diverse background will bring a unique perspective to Washington: I am the son of a career Navy father, so I have literally lived all over the country. I have owned two businesses. I sold one and lost the other to the Great Recession. I have been married 28 years and along with my wife, raised two amazing kids. One is an engineer and the other will soon enter his senior year and is studying engineering. For as long as I can remember, I have been an avid learner. I have been a painter, musician, and writer.
