New Policies
This month we have a ton of new rules to follow. Please make sure to follow all of the rules or you will be banned, cooked into soup, and excommunicated from your religious affiliation of choice.

We actually don't have any new rules or regulations this month. We're still working on increasing manpower for general janitorial work (we've added 8 mods since the last meta discussion and are like to do more before the next), but otherwise things are more or less smooth! Rest assured we are actively working to reduce the incivilities, and we hope you notice a continuing improvement. We hope you're enjoying /r/Politics. If you have good soup recipes, feel free to send them over.
So, since everything is pretty well in order this month, let's talk about...
Fun Stuff!
We have multiple regular sticky threads now that have been providing a lot of variety to the sub. For instance, check out our latest Sunday Morning (Political) Cartoon Thread! This will soon turn into a regular series on Sunday mornings, giving you a place to share your favorite political cartoons and comics of the week. A bit of light-hearted fun to start everyone's week.
If you've not seen them yet, we have another weekly series - the "What Happened in Your State Last Week Megathread"! Check out week 9, week 8, week 7 and week 6. We love local news here at /r/politics, and just because something doesn't make it to /hot doesn't mean it doesn't deserve attention. These threads will continue to run every Monday, and serve as a great place for /r/politics members to discuss what's going on in their communities - whether it's a very cool mayor, a very uncool governor, some intense protests, or anything in between.
AMAs
We started in earnest doing Ask Me Anything Q&A sessions with political figures shortly before the 2016 election, and we've been going strong since! This month we've had 4 - if you've missed them feel free to go check out our AMAs with Michael Wood Jr. (Executive Director of Veterans Stand), Samuel Ronan (Ohio State Representative and candidate for DNC chair), Patrick Kingsley (New York Times immigration journalist), and Roger Stone (best-selling author and Donald J. Trump advisor).
We have 4 more scheduled this month - and we're always subject to pick up even more! See our calendar in the sidebar to keep up to date and in the meantime please look forward to ...
March 6th- ACLU, presenting a special announcement about their new People Power initiative
March 8th- Michael and Andrew from the Center for Investigative Reporting, discussing President Trump's proposed border wall
March 15th- Bruce Gibney, venture capitalist and writer, here to discuss bipartisan policy and taxes.
March 16th- Matt Wuerker, cartoonist with POLITICO to discuss his work in the political cartoon world!
If you know anyone you'd like us to contact for an AMA, just let us know and we'd be happy to send them an email! If you know anyone in the political world who may like to do an AMA, just have them send us an email! We love for politicians and political experts to get involved with our community, and that happens best with your help.
Community Construction
AMAs aren't the only thing that happens best with your help. Many of our biggest policies and changes - title-only rules, Fun Friday threads, Youtube whitelists, and more - have been brought up first here in these meta thread by users like you. If you have ideas for things you want us to do or places you want the subreddit to go, please speak up! We value your input, and we'll be here all day to talk about things the moderators can do to be constantly striving for a better user experience.
In the meantime enjoy the sub, be nice to others, send us good soup recipes, look forward to our upcoming stickies, and have a great week.
