| Discussion Megathread: Montana At-Large Special Election Posted: 25 May 2017 07:36 AM PDT Introduction Today, Montana is holding a special election for its at-large Congressional district. The seat was vacated following former Rep. Ryan Zinke's confirmation as Secretary of the Interior. Polls close at 8PM Mountain West. If you live in Montana and still haven't voted, find your registration site. Montana also permits same-day registration if you register at the county election office. Voter ID is required to cast a ballot at a precinct, but the state permits over 6 different forms of voter identification. Candidates Republican Greg Gianforte (businessman and 2016 MT Republican gubernatorial candidate). Democrat Rob Quist (musician and cultural ambassador). Libertarian Mark L.
